The Nacouzi villa had two main problems: the steep slope of the piece of land, and the orientation of the slope: full to North.

The plot is approximately 1000 meters high from sea level. At this altitude, north exposure to the sun is poor especially in winter time.

For that reason, we tried to create an open space to the south where the sunlight would be trapped to heat and illuminate the elevations.

This way we created a comfortable micro climate good for the outdoor living activities while the long distant view would be on the opposite side looking north.

The L-shaped plan helped create enough space for a family swimming pool and a garden terrace for the outdoor living.

This was the main conflict we had to deal with in the design of this villa. On the other hand, the access road was starting too low, 10 meters below basement level; and 13 meters below ground floor level.
